About Paris Through Expatriate Eyes

WHAT PARTICIPANTS SAY ABOUT OUR TOURS:

"'I will never go on a tour.' I said that many times in my over 10 years of international travel. I held true to that pledge until I met Terrance Gelenter and discovered Paris Through Expatriate Eyes.

I had been to Paris nine times and felt I knew the city very well. As I researched the tour, though, I discovered there was a level of Paris I did not know and this tour would show me new and exciting things about the City of Light.

Terrance and the other tour leaders have knowledge of Paris that is extensive and intimate. In their presence one gets to experience Paris as if you were a resident. For me, that is a priceless opportunity that should not be missed.

The tour provided all the advertised amenities and more. The accommodations were first class and in an excellent location. Mr. Gelenter made himself available to the participants whenever necessary and introduced us to many expatriates in the process. I felt much more a part of Paris than ever before.

Do not miss the chance to have this experience no matter how well you know Paris or how many times you have been there. I believe it will be as wonderful and rewarding an experience for you as it was for me."

"My wife and I went to Paris this spring on a tour entitled Paris through Expatriate Eyes. We weren't sure what to expect, not having been on a tour of this type before. Indeed, this was the initial tour of Paris through Expatriate Eyes, produced and directed by Terrance Gelenter. However, we knew we would be in Paris, in a four star hotel and in a great location. We could not resist.

Terry promised interesting people, an educational experience, great food and a lot of fun. He delivered. His hosts, expatriates currently living in Paris, were terrific. John Baxter's tour through Saint Germain des Prés and Montparnasse was illuminating. His knowledge and stories of the Lost Generation and Surrealists were enlightening as well as entertaining. His hospitality was incredible. Juan Sanchez provided one of the best wine tasting lectures I have ever had the privilege to attend. We met authors and booksellers. We walked through the Marais and the Place des Vosges and thoroughly enjoyed a guided tour of the Musee Carnavalet - learning more and more of the history of Paris.

In the evenings, we visited some delightful and diverse left bank restaurants. The food, wine and the stories flowed in abundance. The conversation was lively and diverse. Terry, ever the enthusiast for the next event, kept our anticipation and participation at peak levels, while scheduling plenty of time for us to explore on our own.

Finally, if you happened to be in the hotel lounge in the late evening, you might have heard Terry sing his rendition of I Left My Heart in San Francisco to the accompaniment of the hotel band. (Terry modestly kept this item off the tour agenda.) We certainly left a part of our hearts in Paris. The memories are priceless and we treasure them. Thank you Terry."

"This guy is knowledgeable and it redounds to your benefit. The hotel, The Lutetia, is a four star with scrumptious buffet breakfasts-croissants, fruit, and coffee to the max. Terrance has plotted amusements, literary introductions to notables and lots of insider surprises.

Benefit by his sophistication – the price is right!"
