A unique culinary and cultural walking tour exploring some of the most delicious and historic markets in Paris. Stroll through the market and discover the variety and quality of the seasonal produce and learn how to shop like a native.
We’ll visit the Bastille market on Blvd. Richard Lenoir and finish at the Marche d’Aliigre, rich with the aromas and sounds of North Africa. Sabah-redolent of the Proche-Orient, with spices from Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, dried fruits and nuts cheek to jowl with Matzoh and Kosher wines from Israel and inside the covered market SUR LES QUAIS l’huile d’olive in metal vats for the pouring in rations as small as 20cl –to be savored over a salad of fenouil, purple garlic from Provençe, cherry tomatoes bursting with sweetness and tossed with sel de mer and generous grinds of black pepper.
We’ll finish with a glass of wine at the Baron Rouge, one of the few remaining places in Paris where you can bring your wine bottle and have it filled from a wooden barrel.
