Introduction to the Treasures of the Louvre Distinguish yourself from the tourist herd. We offer intimate, interactive tours. Make your museum visit the contemplative experience art was intended to provide. This comprehensive tour is an ideal introduction to the diversity and richness of the Louvre. It is designed with the first-time visitor in mind. We follow a roughly chronological circuit, exploring highlights of the Louvre's Ancient Near East, Greek, Renaissance Italian, and French History Painting collections. We will see the most celebrated of all the Louvre's treasures—the Khorsabad Palace, the Venus de Milo, Nike of Samothrace, Leonardo's Mona Lisa, Michelangelo's Slaves, Delacroix's Liberty Leading the People—but we will also take the time to understand their significance to the history of art. Please be aware that there may be unavoidable wait for the Mona Lisa. More About Our Museum Tours Our instructors are trained and experienced art historians. They are native English speakers, with teaching experience at top American universities, including Harvard University, New York University and University of California at Berkeley. They live in Paris because they are preparing publications and/or writing their Ph.D. dissertations in art history. Your Time is Precious The price of admission is included in the price of the tour, which means you are free to explore more of the museum on your own after your Paris Muse session is over. Après Paris Private Tour Option: €20 surcharge to guarantee that your party has a one-on-one tour with the instructor, without other parties. (No tour, however, will ever be larger than four people unless you specifically request it). |
